What I minted this week

A letter to week 9

Welcome to the 53 new people who joined the onchain letters community since Friday!

I'm thankful for all 953 of you and I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend πŸ’€

If you're enjoying my writing, please share Onchain Letters with your friends in Crypto and join the /onchainletters channel on Farcaster 🀝

Every Sunday, I share what I minted throughout the week.

It can be hard to keep up with everything that's happening onchain so hopefully the list below helps you discover a fun project or initiative you may have missed.

Note: some of the minting periods may have ended. None of this information is financial advice, DYOR.

In case you missed my letters from this week, here's a quick recap:

  1. A letter to emerging microeconomies: On Tuesday, Onchain Letters had its first guest writer (@six). He dives deep into a new shift he's been noticing in capital flows within crypto. New digital microeconomies are emerging, powered by products and tooling built on and around the Farcaster graph. As @androidsixteen puts it, "one thing outsiders struggle to see about Farcaster is that there is a local economy brewing here".

  2. A letter to Farcaster Channels: Channels started as an experiment in June 2023 and are now a crucial component of Farcaster. Up until now, brands in crypto used Twitter & Discord channels to market their product. However, channels are increasingly becoming the growth tool with the highest signal in the space due to the quality of daily active users. We're starting to see the most interesting crypto projects all launch on Farcaster first. The onchain composability (especially with frames) makes it simple stupid to experiment with onchain marketing.

What I minted this week

This week, I wanted to highlight a mint that was made for a channel I host on Farcaster! Adam, an active poster in /techarchive, has been creating NFT collections for different channels. This week, he launched a commemorative mint celebrating 1k followers for techarchive πŸ”₯

It was so awesome to see a community member just go for it - he messaged me "perfect timing" when I casted out last weekend that the channel had hit 1k.

Onchain Content

On Wednesday, Paragraph introduced a recommendations feature. Writers in the Paragraph community can help each other out with distribution by referring other newsletters.

It was so cool to see Onchain Letters used in Paragraph's example!

Two new Farcaster podcasts started recently, excited to see the groups continue over the next few weeks!

The first was Many such cases episode 2 by Ted & Jonny.

And the second was by Six, Woj, & Martin

Meme Market

A new project called meme.market by the mint.fun team launched this week. Simply put, the point is to trade tokens that represent different themes of memes. All the tokens are traded on a bonding curve.

$BLUE Price

I thought it was a fun experiment so I decided to buy three different tokens: $BLUE, $FIRST, & $shl0ms. The point is to "create to earn"...the more memes, the more incentive for people to buy (if the memes are good of course).

NFTs

AI+ by @jacob.eth

AI+

Conversational Liquidity Providers by @adrienne. A fun new mint to her "Farcaster Scenius" collection.

The $ENJOY mint - community coin for the Zora network coming soon πŸ‘€

If you found the list above helpful, please share it with friends in crypto who you think should mint as well 🀝

That's all for today, I hope all of you have a great next week!
