What I minted this week

In case you missed my post from Wednesday, here's a quick recap:

The creator is the brand

I realized that my audience cares about my journey and that's really it. For the most part, the people that have been following my work are simply excited to see what I'm thinking about, take part in my experiments, and get some value out of it (informational, discovery, financial, etc). And that's exactly what I mean by the "creator is the brand".

So, what am I going to do to simplify things? Now that I'm working on few projects in parallel, it's time to put everything under an umbrella brand

What I minted this week

Every Sunday, I share what I minted throughout the week.

It can be hard to keep up with everything that's happening onchain so hopefully the list below helps you discover a fun project or initiative you may have missed.
Note: some of the minting periods may have ended. None of this information is financial advice, DYOR.

  1. Rainbow Outlands - a new banger art piece by @sum. I was so impressed by how the colors came out in this!

Sumit did a 50-50 split with the Rainbow team on any earnings from the mint. So far the NFT has already been collected over 5k times and generated 2.3 eth 📈

  1. Social Proof Swaps by @0xdesigner - had to mint this one since I love the idea and 0xdesigner used my pfp in the visual! Something I love doing is using Once Upon to see what kind of NFTs and tokens my friends are buying. I have a few groups set up on it which makes it easy for me to see what's happening or if I'm missing anything.

Being able to see who else holds a token before you buy helps build conviction and makes the purchasing process feel more comforting. This mint is a great example of how we can make onchain sleuthing and the benefits of a ledger more accessible through simple UX changes.

  1. Energy Editions - I thought this was a fun idea by @0xen.

For context, ENERGY is a creative grants collective that funds creative arts and engineering projects on Zora.

Every day, just like Nouns, there's a new NFT that's bid on for 24 hours. The winner gets the NFT and the funds used to buy it are sent to a treasury. A few months ago, #88 unfortunately did not receive any love and no one bought before the deadline. So the NFT was sent to a dead address and burned.

0xen decided to make an open edition and "resurrect" the piece.

  1. Optimists PFP collection by @ripe. I unfortunately wasn't at my computer when the mint went live and had to end up buying on secondary market. The floor price went to 0.15 eth since the launch on Friday.

Warpcast

I picked up 3 pieces from the collection...was especially happy about getting #444 (the last one in the collection).

  1. Based Friends Forever - a fun "Pokemon" style minting game where you had to collect all 10 of the Nouns characters in order to win a 20,000 degen reward. I thought it was a creative onchain way to bring attention to the Yellow Collective and promote minting as well.

Anyone who minted all 10 and won the price pretty much made back their initial cost (gas & fees) and enjoyed the profits as well.

Terminally Onchain Spotlights

What are community members working on?

  1. TokyoDAO (@renstern) - supporting Farcaster creators & builders in Japan. So far they have 60 mints on the TokyoDAO Passport which is the membership NFT for voting on proposals.

  1. Web3 Magic Podcast (@brightfutureguy) - check out BFG's podcast where he interviews a variety of folks in the crypto space. One interesting episode is an interview he did a few months ago with the Brave wallet team. He also has unique insight into what's developing in the European crypto community.

  1. Eluno Hypersub (@bwilde) - Brad is using hypersub to offer consulting services for pretty much anything strategy & product related. If you're looking to improve your pitch deck, get feedback on your product's UX, etc. then it's worth checking out this subscription to see if there's a fit. Maybe he can plug in before you act on hiring someone new for your team!

If you found the list above helpful, please share it with friends in crypto who you think should mint as well 🤝

That's all for today, I hope all of you have a great next week!
